How it began
Reducing the cataract surgery queue, through SUS.
+Visão began in 2020, in partnership with the Government of the State of Amapá, to reduce the backlog of cataract surgeries among those who need them most, with care provided through SUS, Brazil's public health system.
The problem and the goal
Cataracts slowly blur the world.
The faces of one's children, the colors of the street, the way home. And, left untreated, they can lead to blindness.
+Visão's goal is to restore the sight of thousands of people in Amapá, with dignified and efficient treatment, starting with those who need it most.
Impact
From Macapá to the villages of Oiapoque.
Since the beginning, +Visão has remained active and life-changing. The program went wherever care needed to be, improving the quality of life of those who can see again and shortening the state's cataract surgery queue.
